Who We Are:

The Mineola Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center in Mineola, Texas, a 501c6 non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate for and provide economic impact and growth for all that work, live, and play in our communities through community events and strategic marketing, which in turn encourages visitation to the greater Mineola, Texas area. We are conveniently located two hours east of the DFW Metroplex in Downtown Mineola, in the heart of Lake Country and the East Texas Pines. Visitors have long been visiting the Mineola Area by train to enjoy fishing on nearby Lake Fork, R&R at our lake communities, shopping in our historic downtown, local area festivals and events, and more. Mineola, Texas is proud to have been accredited in 2020 as a Main Street America Affiliate which recognizes strong local economies that improve quality of life through their downtown districts.

Chamber Coordinator

Who You Are: Someone who is outgoing, enthusiastic, and a people-oriented self-starter. Must love people, be a supporter of local businesses, and have a passion for making your community a fun place to live and visit. You can make magic happen with event planning while maintaining daily administrative duties, helping visitors during busy times in our visitors center, and simultaneously work under direction from our Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. You are willing to learn from everyone you meet and adapt to change easily. You are a person that loves to build professional relationships, network, and get to know the people that live and work in our communities. A love for trains is also a plus – Amtrak makes stops at our downtown depot frequently and we are a town that was historically a railroad community!

Job Description: 

The Chamber Coordinator, upon the policy and direction of the Chamber Board of Directors, you shall plan, organize, and coordinate Chamber events, perform daily office administrative duties, welcome visitors, guests, and members to the Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, and are responsible for maintaining professional, working relationships with the Chamber membership and the Mineola community. 

Experience & Education Required:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Event Planning

Customer Service

Administrative Duties

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Adobe Acrobat

Excellent Communication Skills


Experience & Education Preferred:

Associates or Bachelors Degree

Compensation: $12-$15/hour based on experience
